If you are not a fan of sweet things, there is no way you cannot like savory too. That would just be punishing your poor taste buds. Thank god, this sweet & savory balsamic chicken recipe has both. If you loved the creamy bacon chicken recipe, as well as the spinach stuffed chicken recipe, I think you’ll be a huge fan of today’s recipe too.
When it comes to your chicken recipes, this one you can probably file in the ‘easy’ section. Besides the chicken breasts you only require eight other readily available ingredients. If you did not have to marinate the chicken, this could probably be a quick recipe too. This recipe serves four, but with just some simple maths you could probably double or triple that number. As for the stock, the homemade version is always best the flavor is just unbeatable.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- balsamic vinegar
- homemade or low-sodium chicken broth
- granulated sugar
- garlic
- dried oregano
- dried basil
- onion powder
- boneless, skinless chicken breast halves
- olive oil
- large bowl
- ziploc bags
- large skillet
- whisk
The first order of business is to make the special marinade in the bowl. The marinade is a mixture of the onion powder, balsamic vinegar, dried herbs, garlic, chicken broth and sugar. Allow the chicken to marinade in ziploc bags, in the fridge for at least 2 hours. Then its time to grill/fry the breasts in a large skillet. When done they should be brown on the outside and the inside should not be pink. I love to serve them with rice or potatoes and a nice garden salad.
