Can I have some more gravy, please? That’s probably what your dog would say if it could speak. LOL! Especially if you introduce your best friend to this wholesome homemade dog gravy recipe. It doesn’t hurt to let them try this dried banana dog treat recipe, homemade natural dog chews recipe and also this diy dog shampoo bar recipe. Whilst you’re at it.
Pets, just like their human counterparts are better off eating 100% all natural homemade products. This helps to keep them away from any harsh chemicals or preservatives found in commercial products. Even better, there are actually quite a few options available when making this gravy. For instance, you can swap out the ground chicken for beef or turkey. The same applies for the chicken stock. You’ll need 30 minutes, to make this gravy.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- coconut oil
- ground chicken
- chopped carrots
- frozen green peas
- chicken stock
- cornstarch or arrowroot powder
- cold water
- skillet
- blender or food processor
You are going to use your skillet to melt the coconut oil first. Then you’ll add the chicken and cook it until browned. Next, you mix in the veggies before lowering the heat and leaving everything to simmer for at least 10 minutes.
Meanwhile I usually prep the cornstarch mixture, which I then stir slowly into the meat and veggie mixture. The gravy must be left to cool down, before you can move on to the final step. Grab your blender or food processor and blend the gravy until smooth. Voila, the homemade gravy is ready to be served over your dog’s food.
