Why on earth would you want it in a tin can? Well, because you CAN! LOL. If you’ve been following these blog posts for a while, you know that we always try to do things a little different over here, whenever possible. In this case, we’ve already covered this canning apple pie filling recipe, this fried apple pies recipe and shown you my favorite mini apple piee recipe. Therefore, it only makes sense that we move on to exploring how to make apple pie in a can, right?

Like me, you probably have a lot of pie recipes, in your rolodex too. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that, especially if you live with and cook for pie lovers. This recipe is not complicated at all, the first time I attempted it the only issue I had was trying to fit the dough in the can. Speaking of cans, make sure that you thoroughly wash them inside with soap and water before using them. If you like, you could also use glass jars instead of cans. This recipe yields four pies, which should be ready in about an hour or so.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

You’ll make the crust first, this will give you time to place the dough in the fridge whilst you make the filling. For the filling, prep the apples as instructed and then set them aside in their own bowl. The rest of the ingredients are mixed in a separate bowl. The dough is rolled out to about 1/4 inch thick and then cut to fit inside and on top of the cans. The apple filling goes into the cans topped by the condensed milk and butter, before the baking can commence.
