OMG! This is probably one of the easiest ways to make homemade bread ever, seriously! When I first heard about this homemade bread in a jar recipe, I was indeed a little skeptical. But, after trying it the first time, I was hooked. While we still talking about bread, be sure to give this homemade french chocolate bread recipe, this homemade ciabatta bread recipe and this homemade sandwich bread recipe a go too.
Usually homemade bread recipes can be tedious, especially the ‘kneading’ ones. This is not the case with this particular one, hence why most people love it. It helps a lot that you can have half the ingredients ready in a jar, before hand. This saves you a lot of time when it comes to actually making the bread. For the dry ingredients, you can opt to use white whole wheat flour or bread flour. The melted butter can also be substituted with vegetable oil.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- lukewarm water
- orange juice
- melted butter or vegetable oil
- maple syrup
- instant yeast
- nonfat dry milk powder
- salt
- white whole wheat or bread flour
- medium bowl
- mason jar
- electric mixer
- bread pan
- plastic wrap
- aluminum foil
The bread in a jar mix has the dry ingredients only. Therefore for each jar you add the flour, dry milk powder, salt and then the yeast packet on top, in that order from top to bottom. When it’s time to bake, you literally dump all the ingredients into a bowl, mix everything together, wait for the dough to rise for an hour and then bake in your oven. The bread should be mixed, baked and ready in just about 2 hours. Enjoy! 🙂
