I love growing tomatoes, that is why over the years I have grown several different varieties. From the indigo rose tomatoes, to the yellow pear tomatoes and even the litchi tomatoes. This season I experimented with growing cherry tomatoes from seed, and was pleasantly surprised by the results.
Now it is important that you understand that there many different varieties of cherry tomatoes. Do a little research and find the one that works best for you and your location. These tomatoes grow very fast, most people use them in salads but they certainly can be used in all your other recipes as well. Plus you can choose to grow them either outside in your garden or inside in containers.

Here’s What You’ll Need:
- cherry tomato seeds
- seedling tray
- organic veggie mix
- water sprayer
- tomato cage
- organic fertilizer
- pruning shears
Step By Step Instructions
Step 1.
Fill your seedling tray with the veggie mix.
Step 2.
Plant 1 to 2 seeds per hole.
Step 3.
Cover your seeds, with a thin layer of mix
Step 4.
Spray some water over the tray and
set it in a sunny location.
If all goes well, germination should take place within 7 days. After a few weeks the seedlings should be ready for transplant either to your garden or to a bigger container. With proper care, you only need a few of these plants to produce more tomatoes than you know what to do with. Do not forget to use a trellis or cage to support your plant.
Water regularly, at least once every 3 days. Fertilizer will need to be applied every week during the first few weeks. Your plants will also require regular pruning as the grow. After about two months the tomatoes should be ready for harvest. There should be a constant supply of tomatoes throughout the summer, until right around the first frost date.
