One of the first things almost every gardener learns to do is how to grow is tomatoes. It is probably because we all love eating tomatoes and use them in our everyday cooking. Just the other day, I discovered what I believe to be the easiest way to grow tomatoes.
This method is so easy, you get more seedlings for less than half the work. From today onward, if you end up with over ripe tomatoes in your fridge, do not throw them out. You can actually use them, to grow your tomato seedlings too.

Here’s What You’ll Need:
- potting soil or garden mix
- container or pot
- ripe tomatoes
- knife
Step By Step Instructions
Step 1
Half fill your pot or container with potting soil.
Step 2
Cut your tomato into 1/4 inch thick slices.
Step 3
Place the tomato slices in a circle on the potting soil in your pot.
Step 4
Take more dirt and sprinkle a thin layer over your tomato slices.
Do not cover them too much, they should just be barely covered.
Step 5
Gently water your pot, leaving it just moist but not too wet.
Your seeds should start to germinate within 7 to 14 days.
You can end up with upwards of fifty seedlings in your pot, which you can them pull out as they get stronger and replant in your garden or in another container. Only plant a maximum of two seedlings per pot.
