1.Eggshells

Eggshells provide that much needed calcium boost in the soil. Calcium is essential for growth and also helps when it comes to blossom end rot prevention. Just add your eggshells to the hole before you transplant your tomato seedlings.

2. Used Coffee Grounds

They make a great organic fertilizer and can also be used as a mulch. Makes sure they are well composted before adding them to the planting hole. They will enhance the composition of the soil whilst allowing the slow release of nutrients to your tomato plants.

3. Baking Soda

Baking soda when applied to the soil helps to lower acidity levels. All you need is to sprinkle a generous amount around the base, and you will end up with with sweeter tomatoes come harvest time.

4.Epsom Salt

Epsom salt is your secret weapon for fighting magnesium deficiency in tomatoes. 1 or 2 tablespoons added to the bottom of the hole, then covered with a thin layer of soil will do the trick. It is very important that you do not allow your seedlings roots to be in direct contact with the epsom salt.

5. Aspirin

Aspirin contains salicylic acid. This helps boost the plant’s immunity, thus promoting the prevention of many diseases including tomato blight. With fewer diseases affecting your plants, your yield will ultimately increase. Dropping 2 to 3 tablets ground or whole in each hole, will do the trick.
