After pizza, I think Chinese food ranks second when it comes to take out or home delivery. We don’t have a food delivery service out here, therefore we have to find other ways to satisfy our cravings. In earlier posts, I shared this Chinese Hot and Sour Soup recipe, Chinese Chicken Salad recipe and this Chinese Beef & Honey Black Pepper Sauce recipe. Those are both great recipes, but these copycat Chinese restaurant dry garlic ribs, are to die for.
When it comes to copycat recipes, it usually takes a couple of attempts before your version can measure up to the original. For this recipe, just make sure that all your ribs are skinned and the rack is cut into individual pieces. As for the broth, homemade is always best it doesn’t really matter whether you use the vegetable, the beef or the chicken broth. Although you only need about 10 minutes for prep, set aside a whole afternoon or evening to cook your ribs.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- pork ribs
- broth
- brown sugar
- soy sauce
- garlic
- yellow mustard
- large onion
- salt
- black pepper
- baking sheet
- aluminium foil
- large bowl
Starting with a preheated oven, you initially want to bake the seasoned ribs in the oven for at least an hour. Meanwhile, you can prep all the other ingredients and mix them in a large bowl to make the sauce. After the sauce has been poured over the ribs, there is one more long baking session in the oven, followed by four shorter sessions. Tedious as it may seem, this ensures that your ribs are well cooked before you can garnish and enjoy them. Bon Apetite! 🙂
