Summer is the perfect time to be enjoying all those fresh ingredients growing in your garden. On this blog you have a few recipes that you can try from the steak fajita pasta salad recipe, shrimp and avocado salad recipe and the balela salad recipe. There is this Chinese chicken salad recipe, that I made this past weekend.
I know, I know when you think of Chinese recipes, salad is probably the last thing that comes to mind. However, after you try this recipe, you may change your mind. Especially if you decide to use the homemade dressing. Normally, using one type of lettuce would be sufficient, but not in this case. We have at least two different varieties, plus the red cabbage too.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- rotisserie chicken breast
- romaine lettuce
- iceburg lettuce
- red cabbage
- carrots
- green onions
- cilantro leaves
- Asian salad dressing
- sesame seeds (optional)
- red pepper flakes (optional)
- almonds (optional)
- cashew (optional)
- crispy wonton strips (optional)
- large mixing bowl
- kitchen tongs
If you are going to be using a homemade version of the dressing (which you should seriously consider) then you should make that first. You can then shred the chicken and then mix it in with the dressing when it’s ready. Leave the chicken to soak in the dressing whilst you prep the other ingredients. Mix in the other ingredients and top the salad with your favorite garnish. That’s pretty much all there is to it.
