I read somewhere the other day, that this was the hottest month of July on record. There is definitely no arguing with that statistic. Meanwhile, I have been trying to keep you cool by sharing stuff like the homemade ice cream in a jar recipe and the homemade fudge pops recipe. Since Summer is still around, I thought I would share my favorite homemade frozen yogurt recipe with you too.
If you are one of those people who loves all natural fruit flavors and raw honey, then you are in for a treat. There is no special equipment required for this recipe. For the yogurt you can decide on whether to use plain or greek. Instead of going out to buy frozen fruit, you can do it yourself at home. Simply lay down the fruit flat on a baking sheet covered with aluminium foil and freeze for about 2 hours.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- food processor---------------------- Advertisement ----------------------or blender
------------------------------------------------------------------- - 3 cups frozen strawberries
- 2 or 3 cups yogurt
- 2 tablespoons raw honey
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 3 cups pineapple chunks (optional)
- 3 cups frozen mango (optional)
- 3 cups frozen raspberries (optional)
- 3 cups frozen blueberries (optional)
- aluminium foil (optional)
- baking sheet (optional)
Step By Step Instructions:
Step 1.
Add your selected fruit, yogurt, honey
and lemon juice into the food processor.
Step 2.
Blend until smooth for about 3 minutes or so.
Step 3.
Scoop into a freezer container and
garnish with fresh fruit, if you like.
It is best to use frozen fruit vs fresh because they tend to give the finished product a nice creamy texture. The only ingredient that you cannot substitute is your honey, without it your frozen yogurt will be hard to scoop. You can serve immediately or place in your freezer for at least 6 hours before serving. Which on is your favorite flavor? I loooove my mango froyooo! 🙂
