If seasoning be the secret ingredient of delicious food, mix on! We are slowly building a good library of homemade seasonings on this blog which include the homemade jamaican jerk seasoning mix, the homemade thai spice blend mix and the homemade taco seasoning recipe. Today I would like to add this homemade fajita seasoning mix recipe too.
If you are a sucker for quick and easy meal recipes like me, then I am sure fajitas are up there on your list. However, your meat would never taste the same without this mix of 12 herbs and spices. Ready in less than 5 minutes, you can make before hand so that you always have some to add to your chicken and beef strips. This recipe will make about a 3/4 cup of seasoning mix.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- cornstarch
- chili powder
- salt
- paprika
- smoked paprika
- sugar
- chicken boullion powder
- onion powder
- garlic powder
- cumin
- crushed red pepper flakes
- pinch of cayenne (optional)
- mason jar
This is one of those easy ‘mix’ recipes. It simply entails mixing all your ingredients in a mason jar, giving it a good shake and voila. Your seasoning mix is ready for use. Store in the jar until needed. As a guide, use about two and half teaspoons for every pound of mix. Of course, feel free to adjust the quantities as you see fit! 🙂
