DIY Reusable Microwave Popcorn Bags

Ever since I became a health nut, the greasy nature of those popcorn bags you pop in your microwave have always been of concern. I think I have finally found the solution with these diy reusable microwave popcorn bags. Just like the diy crochet mop cover and the diy pillowcase eco shopping bags, you are definitely being environmentally friendly when you use these.

This simple beginner sewing project, can easily be completed by anyone with basic sewing skills. Although very little fabric is needed, it is recommended that you stick to using 100% cotton fabric for best results. Those store bought microwave bags often have other chemicals embedded within them, that you can avoid by using these healthy alternatives. Oh and there is less waste too, as these are reusable. Just pop them into the washing machine for a quick wash when dirty.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

Begin by measuring then cutting your pieces of fabric with a scissors as directed. Then you can move on to using pins to pin the sides together and sewing the whole way around except for the opening. There a couple more folds and pins, but it shouldn’t take too long before your bag is complete and ready to take on the microwave. Usually half a cup of popcorn takes between 2 to 2 and 1/2 minutes to pop in my microwave, popping times maybe slightly different with yours.
