One of my ultimate goals since we started homesteading is to become as multi skilled as possible. This is why I try learn as many new skills as possible with the free time that I get. I have already been doing a lot of sewing hence projects like the diy old shirt apron and also dabbled in knitting when making the diy chicken sweaters. Next on the list of new skills will be crotcheting when I attempt this diy crochet mop cover.
I chose this particular pattern because it looks easy enough, for a beginner like me. Once I master the ‘crunch stitch‘ the pattern itself is not complicated. I also have one of these swifter looking mops that is need of these mop headsand figured this would be a great way to save money by making a washable and reusable one. The plan is once I have it all figured out, I will then make a few extra ones using different color yarn.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- cotton yarn
- 4mm crochet hook
- scissors
- tapestry needle
- stitch markers (optional)
So I was looking at the actual instructions and noticed that there are a few abbreviations that I am going to have to learn. For example, Ch which is short for Chain and HDC which is short for Half Double Crochet. Oh how I love learning secret languages, LOL. Also after I have mastered the art of crotcheting, my sewing skills will be called again to complete the mop cover by tucking in the either ends. I am super excited to get started, just thought I should share this pattern with you too. 🙂
