We have been using this diy tire rim wood stove daily for years now. So obviously, we had to think of clever ways of storing wood in and around our home. I showed you how to build this diy cinder block firewood rack and this diy plumbing pipe firewood holder, in previous posts. Today, I will be showing you how to make this diy wood box for firewood storage.
There are many different diy firewood storage ideas, that you could choose from. However, this one is very friendly on your wallet, since it is mostly made up from recycled materials. It is also designed to be in close proximity to your house versus out in the back. The firewood that you will be storing in this box, should be easily accessible when you are using your stove or fireplace. Therefore, the best place to build it will probably be just off your porch.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- wood pallets
- lumber
- metal sheets
- siding
- wood screws
- hand held drill
- jig saw
- hacksaw
- tape measure
- marker
How this build works is that you first have to collect all the materials that you are going to use. Only then can you decided on the size of the box you will be building. If you can find pallets you can use those to make the main structure without even dismantling them. The lumber can then be used for the roof supports. Your tape measure will be your best friend, just always remember to measure twice and cut once.
