No one wants a messy disorganized kitchen, not even if you are living off grid. There have been a few post over the years such as the diy pull out under sink cabinet organizer and the diy wood pallet coffee mug holder, to help you keep things organised. You can also consider this DIY kitchen double layer drawer for your kitchen utensils drawer.
I am always on the lookout for new kitchen organization ideas and was super excited when my friend Debbie shared this one with me. Instead of using the ‘infamous’ plastic organizers, you can build a solution that not only organizes the stuff in the drawer, but also doubles the space inside. The project is not super complicated, anyone with basic power tools skills should be able to make one of these.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- S4S poplar boards
- wood glue
- nailer with 1″ brad nails
- measuring tape
- ¼” plywood
- sanding block
- jig saw
- handheld drill or screw driver
This is one of those projects that you definitely have to measure twice, otherwise you will end up with a smaller drawer that doesn’t fit inside the larger drawer. Then you have to figure out your configuration based on how much space you have in your drawers. With all your measurements done, you can begin cutting, sanding and ultimately assembling everything together. When all is said and done you should have a really slick divider in your kitchen drawer.
