Since it’s the season to be jolly, it is the perfect time to feature Christmas themed blog posts. In previous years I have shared the diy wood pallet christmas tree, this spiced Christmas jam and how to grow Christmas trees with you guys. This year I have decided to start by sharing this diy tiered plate candy stand you can use to display all your favorite Christmas candy.
In addition to this one, I will try to feature a few more diy Christmas projects before the end of the festive season. All that scrap wood you have been saving from your various projects all year long can finally be of use. Power tools will also be needed, in order to make the precise angle cuts. I have become pretty good with these tools over the years, however my husband has always been the ‘expert’. There will probably be less wood wasted if I rope him in for this project. LOL
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- 1×2 boards
- scrap wood
- miter saw
- jig saw
- wood glue
- painters tape
- power drill
- 1 1/4″ wood screws
- wood finish
- tape measure
The first step is where the precision is required, the wood for the supports has to be cut at certain angles and lengths. The frame assembly using wood glue can commence once you have all the required pieces. It’s probably easier to cut out the plates if you use circle templates to trace around. She also recommends that you apply a little wood finish, before assembling everything together. Take special care when drilling the wood for your screws, to avoid splitting any of the pieces.
