Since it’s the season to be jolly, I thought what the heck why not be jolly along with everyone else. Over the years I have made a few holiday season posts such as the diy wood pallet christmas tree and the 3 non traditional turkey recipes. In today’s post I will be sharing this spiced Christmas jam recipe, which I am sure you will absolutely love.
Going forward I will start sharing a lot more Christmas recipes, especially in the month of December. What makes this jam perfect for Christmas, is the combination of ingredients. There is the strawberries and cranberries, which are complimented by the mix of holiday spices. This recipe makes 12 jars, the jam will make a great gift share with your friends and family.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- frozen unsweetened strawberries or fresh strawberries
- fresh or frozen cranberries
- sugar
- liquid fruit pectin packets
- ground cinnamon
- ground ginger
- ground allspice
- ground cloves
- water bath canner
- food processor
- large stock pot
- canning jars with lids
- canning utensils
- kitchen towel
Bring out your water bath canner and get it started whilst you prepare your jam. The strawberries and cranberries have to be processed in the food processor for a few minutes, before you transfer to the pot. The sugar and the spices will go in last, mix everything well and allow to boil for at least a minute.
Move the pot away from the heat, so that you can add the pectin. One last boil whilst stirring and the jam is ready for canning. The jars are filled to allow 1/4 inch of heads pace, the lids and rings screwed on tight. Process in your water bath canner for 10 minutes, carefully lift them onto the kitchen towel on the counter and allow the jars to seal overnight. Store in a cool dry place.
