Ummm, bad breath is a NO NO! Be it a human being or the man’s best friend, it’s the main reason why there is less kissing in this world. LOL. Well we have already looked at this diy dog toothpaste recipe and this diy dog shampoo recipe in earlier posts. Today’s blog post however, will be all about how you can make these diy doggy breath mints, in your home kitchen.
They are plenty of homemade dog treats recipes you can make for your dog’s enjoyment. This particular one has three main ingredients that separate it from the rest. We’re talking the parsley which helps fight bacteria, the oats which is choke full of healthy fiber and the mint which is hands down the best tool for dealing with any form of bad breath. Please note that some dogs maybe allergic to some of the ingredients, therefore keep an eye out for any allergic reactions.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- 2 1/2 cups old fashioned oats
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup fresh parsley
- 1/2 cup fresh mint
- 3 tablespoons coconut oil
- 1/4 cup water
- parchment paper
- small dog bone cookie cutter
- cookie sheet
- rolling pin
- food processor
- large bowl (optional)
Step By Step Instructions
Step 1.
Add all the ingredients into your food processor.
Step 2.
Process at high speed until you end up with a nice thick dough.
Step 3.
Use your rolling pin to flatten the dough out to about 1/4″ thick.
Step 4.
Grab your small cookie cutter and use it to cut out your mints.
Step 5.
Line your cookie sheet with parchment paper and place your mints on it.
Step 6.
Bake in your oven for 35 to 40 minutes at 325 degrees F.
And that’s all folks. Allow the doggy mints to cool before storing in an air tight container. If you do not have a food processor you can mix the ingredients manually in a large bowl. Since these are for our dogs, I prefer to use the small doggy bone shaped cutter I purchased online a few years back. Somehow they seem to look way cuter that way, or maybe it’s just me! LOL.
