Trust me, when the critters come out to play in your garden, they really do come out to play. In our garden we ended up setting up this diy garden stick fence, this diy liquid garden fence and even using this homemade squirrel repellent spray. I found yet another solution for your raised beds, I’m taking about this diy fence for raised garden beds.
These diy gardening projects are essential for your garden, as they help protect your produce from those pesky critters. Although the title targets the ‘raised’ beds, you could easily modify this for any type of garden bed. The chicken wire and the stakes are going to eat up most of your budget. However, most standard size raised garden beds should require less than 2 hours for full fence installation. It’s a great project to undertake one of those sunny afternoons in your garden.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- 2′ chicken wire
- pre-cut stakes
- wire cutters
- staple gun
- tape measure
- staples
- gloves
- shovel
A pair of extra hands are needed for this project. Not even Superman could do this one by himself, as one person is needed to control the chicken wire, whilst the other measures and staples the stakes onto it. When all the stakes are in place, you’re also going to need help installing the fence around your raised garden beds. Don’t rush the project, make sure that everything is held firmly in place, hence ensuring your fence is sturdy and does not collapse.
