Don’t you love that time of the year, when there is more corn available than you know what to do with it. Wherever you look or go, it’s just fresh corn every where! LOL. On this blog you can find old posts on pickled corn with red onions & cilantro recipe, Mexican street corn recipe and how to freeze fresh corn on the cob recipe. This buttery smoked corn on the cob recipe, is not only easy but also very tasty.
Excuse me, I’ve just realized we haven’t been utilizing our diy homemade smoker of late hence I started digging up some of my favorite smoker recipes. For this recipe you need corn that still has its husks on. Also if you would like to spicy it up a notch, you can add some red pepper chili flakes into the mix. Hmmmm smokey and spicy, I can already see hubby’s taste buds singing… hallelluuuujah! Hi hi hiii. Anywho, let’s get smoking, shall we?
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- corn
- melted butter
- light brown sugar
- paprika
- onion powder
- garlic powder
- salt
- green onions
- roasting pan
- water
- soaked wood chips or pellets
- paper towels
- small bowl
- kitchen brush
When soaking the corn you, simply pull back the husks in order to remove the silks. Do not completely remove the husks. Use the roasting pan to soak the corn for at least 4 hours, although when well organized I usually let it soak overnight. When you are ready to start smoking, prepare the rest of the ingredients in a small bowl. Dry your corn before brushing it with the ‘seasoning’. Smoke your corn with the husks pulled back over it, for about an hour or so.
