Honestly, speaking from experience these homemade fertilizers work just as well if not better than the manufactured ones. We are essentially using all natural nutrients to feed back to the growing plants, it doesn’t get any better than that. All plants need potassium in order to facilitate proper growth and reproduction. Potassium is also vital when it comes to the trans-location of essential nutrients, including water as well as other substances from the roots of the plants through the stem and on to the leaves.
What You’ll Need:
- fresh banana peels
- baking tray
- rolling pin
- ziploc bag
Step By Step Instructions:
Step 1.
Place a banana peel skin side down on a baking tray
Step 2.
Bake at 350 degrees for at least 25 minutes.
Step 3.
Remove from oven and place in a ziploc bag.
Step 4.
Use a rolling pin to crush the banana peel into a powder.
Voila, your homemade fertilizer is ready. Use a spoon to apply to your plants as needed. Simply sprinkle over the soil and then water a tad bit. This fertilizer can be applied to your veggies as well as your flowers (even your potted plants).
