This morning I woke up feeling like we should have some Asian food for dinner and that is exactly what is going to happen. I won’t be making the Thai red curry recipe or the Vietnamese style baked chicken recipethat you already know. Instead today’s dinner was this spicy Thai shrimp pasta recipe.
This is one of the easier shrimp recipes that you can make in your kitchen. Just prep your ingredients as instructed, pop them into the blender, then add your pasta and dinner is served. Make sure that you use either large shrimp or prawns for this recipe. For those who love hot things like hubby dearest, feel free to replace the serrano peppers with your favorite chili peppers instead.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- large red bell pepper
- serrano peppers
- lemongrass
- garlic cloves
- fresh ginger
- vegetable oil
- creamy peanut butter
- fish sauce
- chili garlic sauce
- lime juice
- extra large shrimp
- dry angel hair pasta
- cilantro
- green onion
- sweet red chili sauce
- lime wedges and red pepper flakes (optional)
- blender or food processor
- large non stick pan
- cutting board
- sharp knife
We start by making the sauce, simply puree the ingredients in your blender or food processor. You can then move on to saute-ing the shrimp in the large pan. The sauce is then added and left to warm up a bit before adding the pasta which should be cooked already. The pasta should absorb most of the sauce. Garnish with the green onion and cilantro, then add a dab of the chili sauce just to spice things up a little more when serving. Enjoy! 🙂
