We all know that, the closest to fresh summer fruit you can get in winter is by raiding your stash of frozen fruit in the freezer. In previous posts we have looked at how to freeze blueberries, how to freeze strawberries and even how to freeze peaches. Today I will be showing you how to freeze pineapple.
This has got to be one of my favorite tropical fruit. I just love me some pineapple. This is why I always make sure we have some in the freezer. I have tried freezing slices before, but personally I think chunks freeze much better. You don’t need any special equipment or any other ingredients. Actually the process is very similar to the other fruits I listed above.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- fresh pineapple
- sharp knife
- cutting board
- baking sheet
- fruit corer (optional)
Step By Step Instructions
Step 1.
Peel and core your pineapple.
Step 2.
Cut the pineapple into small chunks.
Step 3.
Place the chunks in a single layer on the baking sheet.
Step 4.
Place in the freezer for an hour or so to flash freeze.
Step 5.
Remove from the freezer and pack in a freezer bag or container. Store in your freezer until use.
