How To Freeze Blueberries

We like to enjoy as many of them as possible, whilst they are still fresh. However, we still end up having to preserve some of them. There is already a post on how to dehydrate blueberries, I want to show you how to freeze blueberries.

With many different blueberry recipes to choose from, it is a good idea that you store some frozen in your fridge. The process is not complicated at all, just make sure that you freeze the berries individually. In fact, it would probably be easier to just pack them in smaller ziploc bags, so that once you open a bag, you use all the frozen blueberries inside that bag.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

Step By Step Instructions

Step 1.

Make sure that the blueberries are dry
before you begin the freezing process.

Step 2.

Lay the parchment paper on the baking sheet.

Step 3.

Spread the blueberries in one layer, on
the baking sheet and place in your freezer.

Step 4.

When frozen you can transfer the blueberries
into a ziploc bag for storage in your freezer.

When it comes time to use the blueberries, there is no thawing required. You just pop them into the blender for a quick smoothie. If you have a large harvest, you can do it in batches. Just make sure that they are separate on the baking sheet, so that they do not clump together. That is all there is to it, nothing complicated.
