When it comes to cleaning up in the kitchen, most people would rather not have to it. It is usually because some of the messes tend to be hard to impossible to clean up. I have shared how to clean old cookie sheets and how to clean cast iron without soap in the past. Today however, we shall take a look at how to clean burnt on food off your pots.
If you would like to reduce your kitchen clean up time, I highly recommend that you equip yourself with as many of these diy cleaning techniques and tricks as possible. Most of the time, you only need a few basic ingredients, that are usually readily available in your kitchen. If you do not have baking soda, you can use a wet fabric softener sheet instead. The anti static agents work the same way and help to loosen the burnt on food.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- dirty pots
- baking soda
- water
- sponge or paper towel
- spoon
- fabric softener sheet (optional)
- kitchen gloves
Step By Step Instructions
Step 1.
Use the spoon to sprinkle baking soda to coat the bottom of your burnt on pot.
Step 2.
Add warm water to allow the baking soda to become a paste.
Step 3.
Set the pot aside and let it sit for at least 10 minutes.
Step 4.
Wipe clean the baking soda from the bottom of the pot with a sponge.
Generally speaking the longer you let your pot sit, the better your results. The sodium bicarbonate penetrates the stuck on food and helps loosen it. If you still have burnt food stuck on repeat Step 1 and 2 but instead of letting it sit, boil the paste for a few minutes. Allow to cool, before wiping it clean.
