Homemade Self Rising Flour

How I wish more people out there knew that there are homemade versions of the products they use, that are often way cheaper and healthier. Just like the homemade krispy kreme donuts recipe, homemade chai tea latte recipe and homemade sour cream chips, I have already shared on this blog. Today we will be adding how to make your own self rising flour, right there in your home kitchen.

There are indeed many baking recipes out there, that call for self rising flour. As it is easily available any grocery store, we often have a bag lying around in our pantries. What if I told you that not only is it easy to make your own, you also only require 3 ingredients. Would you still bother grabbing that extra bag of flour? I certainly hope not.

Homemade Self Rising Flour

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • large bowl
  • whisk
  • air tight container (optional)

Step By Step Instructions

Step 1.

Measure and add the ingredients to the bowl.

Step 2.

Whisk everything together, until blended.

Step 3.

That’s it. Your flour is ready.

You can make as much as you need and more. It is just a matter of doubling up or tripling the ingredients. If you have any leftovers, you can store the flour in an air tight container or jar. This recipe takes less than 2 minutes to prepare and has a yield of about 1 cup. Try it today! 🙂
