Homemade Molt Meatloaf For Chickens

Can you imagine if every fall we humans started molting just the same way hens do. All our body hair falls off, only to be replaced by brand spanking new hair. We have made the diy chicken dust bath and the diy chicken molt muffins. I am surprised that I still had not shared this homemade molt meatloaf for chickens yet.

There are many reasons why your your chickens may start molting, but the most consistent is usually the shorter days of fall. The chicken body clock knows it is time to shed old battered feathers and replace them with new ones just in time for the winter. I really don’t enjoy this period not only do the girls look ‘ugly’ their egg production is also affected.
