I have pretty much covered homemade versions of many cleaning products in earlier posts. From the homemade body wash, to homemade liquid laundry soap, homemade toilet bombs and even homemade shampoo. This is all after realizing that most of these products could easily be made at home. Today, we will be adding this homemade liquid hand soap to this growing list of useful everyday products.
This recipe only calls for 3 ingredients, that you should already have available. Otherwise, it would probably only cost you a dollar to buy soap, which is the main ingredient. We all have different preferences as far as fragrances are concerned, you can control this by purchasing your favorite soap and using it for this recipe. Also instead of using coconut oil, you could switch that and use glycerin which is what the original recipe calls for anyway.

Here’s What You’ll Need:
- bar of soap
- coconut oil
- water
- large pot
- whisk
- grater
- container with soap pump
It is kinda of annoying when you have what seems like a simple recipe, but one that requires a lot of prep time. This is one of those that will test your patience, not once but twice. First, you have to grate the soap, in order to start melting it. Then the slow melting process follows, which requires you to occasionally stir the mixture in the pot.
When ready, it has to be left out to cool down completely. At least by then, you can see the light at the end of the tunnel, you are almost done. Ideally you want to store the hand soap in a container that has a soap pump, it just makes using it a whole lot easier. Just press down, and your soap splurts out just like with the store bought version.
