Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • 1/2 cup washing soda
  • 20 mule team Borax
  • grated Fels Naptha soap bar
  • medium pot or saucepan
  • water
  • grater
  • old distilled water jugs (optional)
  • essential oils (optional)
  • fabric softner (optional)
  • paint stirrer attachment (optional)
  • hand drill (optional)
  • 5 gallon plastic bucket (optional)

I like the idea of adding essential oils or fabric softener, it helps give the soap a nice fragrance. A couple of drops of Lavender, will go into my batch.

This recipe makes up to 3 gallons of liquid detergent, which cleans just as good if not better than the same amount of the store bought option. Takes about 24 hours, before the soap is ready for use.
