Don’t you just love it when you can turn something old into something unbelievable and new? We have done it before on here with the diy tire rim wood stove, the diy yoga ball goat toy and even the diy whiskey barrel mint garden. Therefore, you are probably going to really enjoy this diy repurposed cupboard door shelf too.
Although some diy re-purposing projects can be pretty easy, others can be a little more complicated. This is one of the later ones, only because there are quite a few measurements and cuts that have to be made. Overall, you can keep the total costs down by salvaging as much additional plywood as you can possibly can from in and around your homestead.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- Kreg rip cut
- Kreg jig K5
- Kreg right angle clamps
- 1” pocket hole screws
- wood glue
- sand paper with 400 grit
- spray paint
- leg mounting plates
- old cupboard doors
- wire baskets
- plywood
- tape measure
Since all wire baskets are not created equal, you may want to measure yours first. That way you will know how wide your shelves are going to be. With the measurements in hand you can move on to building the actual shelves and the cupboard. This is when I call the hubby to help me with all the different cuts. LOL
The pocket hole screws and the glue are sufficient to hold everything together as you assemble your shelf. When everything is in place, you can then stain the wood and then re-attach the legs when everything is dry. This is a re-purposing project, so feel free to use whatever you have available.
