DIY Pot Scrubbies From Mesh Produce Bags

Don’t you dare throw out those produce bags, especially after reading this post. I’ll personally come to your house, pick them out of the trash and reuse them for you. LOL, just kidding! In previous posts we looked at how to make diy wine cork kitchen utensil holder, diy plastic bag baskets and also these diy mason jar canisters. Today, we will be trying our hand at making these diy pot scrubbies from mesh produce bags.

I still don’t understand how some of you out there, still do not enjoy simple diy repurposing projects, like this one. Not only are you ‘living green’ by reusing produce bags that would have otherwise been disposed off, you’ll also be saving a few dollars. Whenever, I buy produce from a local farmer’s market or the grocery store especially, I make sure I save these bags. It’s a bummer that they are not always the same color, but nevertheless they still get the scrubbing job done!

Here’s What You’ll Need:

There are actually a couple of different ways to make your pot scrubbers. The simplest method is probably the clipped edges, bunched together, bow tie one. For a more secure one, then you may opt for weaving the thread or dental floss through the bag and tying it all together. My favorite one though, is the one that makes use of more than one mesh bag. The scrubbie is bulkier and easier to use when it comes to getting those burnt on pots and pans squeaky clean.
