DIY Goat Hobble

Ooh you can dance, you can jive, having the time of my life… dig in the dancing queen! LOL So yeah, I showed you how to build your own diy pvc goat milking stand and the diy mason jar goat milking machine. However, both those could be useless unless you also have this diy goat hobble.

It doesn’t really matter which goat breed you have, when it comes to milking them they usually become a nuisance. Especially, the first few days or weeks you start milking them. Besides kicking some are know to literally start dancing around on the milking stand. You want to use a strong cord, that is also not too rough, so that you do not hurt your goats.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

How Does It Work?

On one end of the cord your tie a slip knot and the other end is left hanging loose. When it is time to milk the goat, secure the goat in the milking stand first. Then you put one of the legs inside the slip knot and tighten it loosely. Then you wrap the loose end of the cord around the goat’s other leg and tie a knot to secure the loop. When done milking, remove the hobble first before letting the goat out of the milking stand.
