For many years now, we have woken up each morning to fresh eggs that have been laid by our chickens. If you want a constant egg supply make sure that you get the right egg laying breeds right from the beginning. I have already shown you how to build this diy easy lift chicken egg door, in an earlier post. Today please allow me to share this diy egg gathering apron pattern.
Of the many apron designs and ideas out there, this is one of those I had never imagined. Actually it is a great project to repurpose some old clothes or material and that would in turn help you save some money. Also instead of just using one fabric, why not mix and match them. For this particular project, it is probably easier to use a sewing machine, however don’t sweat it if you don’t have one.

Here’s What You’ll Need:
- muslin or cotton fabric
- tape measure
- cutting mat
- sewing machine
- marker
Alright, to get started you are going to need to go through the tedious task of marking, measuring and then cutting your material. Only after that has been done, can you move on to actually sewing your apron. If I were you, I would concentrate on getting the egg pockets done first, before sewing and tucking in the rest of the apron. I would love to see hubby in this apron, let’s see if I can convince him to put it on. 🙂
