We all know how important it is to keep our livestock healthy at all times. It does not matter if its the goats, pigs, sheep, cows or even chickens. In previous posts we have looked at how to make diy electrolytes for goats and also the homemade goat teat wash. Well, in today’s post we shall be making these homemade dosage balls for goats.
Often, giving your goats the herbal supplements they need can be a hassle. In the past we have had to be very patient when administering these, as it often takes way too long. However, as when I discovered these ‘dosage balls’ life became easier. Besides the actual supplement, you will only need two other ingredients which are readily available in your kitchen. We usually turn this into a family activity, and get my two girls to help me make these.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- herbal goat powder
- molasses
- bowl
- cutting board
- flour
- sharp knife
- ziploc bags (optional)
Measure out the required dosage for your goats, only then can you add the molasses and start making the balls. The flour will help avoid an overly sticky situation and make it easier to work with the balls. It is also great that you can make a huge batch and then freeze them until they are needed. That way you always have them readily available when you need them. The goats actually love these, they think they are little treats. LOL
