With all the fresh produce available in your garden during the gardening season, you have to enjoy as many salads as you possibly can like this greek yogurt chicken salad. Although some taste just as delish without a dressing, often times if you add some you will take your salad to the next level. I have already shared how to make homemade french salad dressing and homemade copycat olive garden dressing. In this post we will take a look at this sweet & spicy mango salad dressing recipe.
I don’t know what it is, but when you add both sweet and sour flavours to your recipes, there is often an explosion of flavors. With just 10 minutes available before you have to serve your next salad, you can quickly make this. As long as you have the the 9 ingredients required for this exotic dressing available. Which shouldn’t be an issue at all, the spices are readily available in most kitchen and the fresh ingredients in most gardens.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- fresh mango
- fresh lime juice
- fresh orange juice
- honey
- cumin
- garlic
- salt
- extra virgin olive oil
- fresno chili pepper or jalapeno
- cilantro
- black pepper
- chopping board
- sharp knife
- blender
- container or jar
Since you will be dealing with a lot of fresh ingredients, make sure that you wash and dry them before you get started. Then its time to prep the ingredients. Chop the mango, cilantro and chili pepper. Then make the juice either using fresh limes and oranges or simply use the concentrates if you have those instead. The black pepper has to be freshly ground too.
Everything goes into the blender except the cilantro, chili pepper and black pepper. You add those after you have blended the other ingredients and emptied the puree mixture into the jar. That leaves the oil, which is mixed into the puree slowly just before adding the last ingredients. The recipe calls for fresno chili peppers, we don’t have those in our garden but it seems that the jalapeno alternative tastes just as spicy. Store in your fridge for up to 7 days. Enjoy! 🙂
