Homemade French Dressing Recipe

Many of us enjoy salads, especially if you can just harvest lettuce and other greens from your garden. Often times, I just like to use simple dressings like olive oil on salads, but there are other times I like to use the more popular dressings such as this homemade french dressing.

This is one of those easy recipes, that require you to just measure out the ingredients and then mix everything well. Unlike store bought dressings, no harmful preservatives will be added to your dressing, and no doubt you will find that it has a better taste too. If you feel the sugar is too much, go ahead and just add as much as you need.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon pink salt
  • small bowl
  • whisk
  • mason jar

So essentially we have to mix all the ingredients to make our dressing. One way to go about doing this is to measure all your seasonings into one small bowl. Then you simply take all the seasonings and dump them into the vinegar, stir well with your whisk.

Pour the mixture from the small bowl into your mason jar. The add your oil, sugar and the ketchup goes in last. Grab your whisk and mix everything well in the jar. I like to complete the whole process, by just screwing on the lid and giving the jar a good shake. Store in your refrigerator.
