If you are a lover of ribs, you are absolutely going to love this post. One of the reasons, why you probably do not have them as often as you would like is that they take too long to cook. But not anymore, just like the the homemade ice cream in a jar recipe, there is an easier way to do things. Please allow me to share this instant pot bbq ribs recipe with you today.
Admittedly, this recipe does have a rather long list of ingredients. This is mainly because you have to make the dry rub and the barbecue sauce separately. This recipe will require about 10 minutes of prep time, followed by 45 minutes cooking time. The total time is about an hour, plus time you will need to wait for your instant pot to release its pressure. That by the way using this special ‘pot’ is what helps you speed up the whole process. Yipeee!
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- dry mustard
- smoked paprika
- onion powder
- cayenne pepper
- cumin ground
- garlic powder
- brown sugar
- black pepper ground
- salt
- racks baby back pork ribs
- apple juice
- apple cider vinegar
- liquid smoke
- bbq sauce
- ketchup
- whiskey
- brown sugar
- Worcestershire sauce
- instant pot
- small saucepan
- baking sheet
The best way to deal with this three step process recipe, is to start by mixing all your dry ingredients for they dry rub. Once you have done that you can then apply the rub onto your ribs and place them in the instant and let them cook until done. Whilst they are cooking you can make the bbq sauce which involves mixing all the sauce ingredients in the saucepan, stirring and allowing to simmer for 25 minutes or so.
I have to warn you though, be very very careful when it comes time to remove the ribs from the pot. Since the meat on the bones is so tender, it comes off easily. There have been a few times, that I have broken my rack into a few pieces. When it comes to applying the bbq sauce, don’t hold back lay it thick on the ribs and you will end up with some super juicy and sticky ribs.
