How To Make Fitted Sheets

Growing up, mama taught us to make sure our beds are made, before leaving the bedroom. Of late I have been sharing quite a few sewing projects such as the diy grocery bag holders and the diy fabric bowl covers. In today’s blog post we shall be looking at how you can make fitted sheets for your bed, from flat sheets.

There are more homemade fitted sheets patterns available on the internet. However, I chose this particular one as it was one of the easier ones. I also like the fact that you can convert your flat sheets into fitted ones. Besides the sheeting, you are also going to need to dust off your sewing machine. Although it can be done manually, it will probably end up taking up more of your time than it should.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

Before you can begin, you need to take measurements of your bed mattress. With these in hand, you have to add about 18 inches to the width, depth as well as the length too. There is some cutting and folding at each of the corners, followed by french seams. The elastic is the last to be added and stitched into place. Just make sure you do not sew on top of the elastic.
