Here’s What You’ll Need:

There are a few different ways to get your trees started. Obviously the seed germination route will take a little longer than just buying a young tree from your local nursery. With the seeds, you can choose to let them germinate over a few months in your freezer, or you can be more adventurous and direct sow them into the ground.

Just make sure that when you eventually plant your tree, it is in an area that gets full sun and has well drained soil. It is recommended that you water your tree weekly during the first year, and also apply a layer of mulch to conserve water. Pruning is not necessary, although you should always remove any dead matter from your tree.
