With the vegan craze that is currently taking over the world, I am not surprised that more and more of our veggies end up being fries. Let me as you a quick question? When you planted carrots in your garden this season, where you thinking that you would be using them to make this oven baked carrot fries recipe?
Of course, there are plenty of other delicious carrot recipes, you can try. Carrots are a great source for beta carotene, and Vitamin C. This recipe has other ingredients listed besides the carrots, but they are merely for adding a little flavor. Experiment with what you like, and feel free to substitute some of these. For best fries, try using some fresh carrots, straight out of your garden.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- large carrots
- olive oil
- paprika
- onion powder
- salt and pepper
- Sriracha Mayo Sauce
- avocado mayo
- sriracha sauce
- lemon juice
- sea salt
- fresh parsley (optional)
- vegetable brush (optional)
- baking sheet
- sharp knife
- cutting board
Just before you start washing and prepping your carrots, make sure you pre-heat your oven. Personally, even with fries I prefer the ones that still have the skins on, therefore I do not bother peeling my carrots. Feel free to peel yours, if you so wish.
If you have a potato cutter you can use that to cut your fries, otherwise simply use a knife to cut your carrots. Your fries should be in one single layer on your baking sheet and it takes about 20 minutes for them to bake. The fresh parsley makes a great garnish, serve with your favorite dipping sauce.
