Give your goats a treat a day for happier goats. Seriously I mean, who doesn’t like treats? In earlier posts we have looked at making homemade peanut butter dog treats, homemade dried tomato chicken treats and even homemade salmon cat treats. Today it’s the turn of our goats, I will be sharing this homemade baked goat treats recipe with you guys.
Honestly, I haven’t come across many homemade goat treat recipes in the past, but I am definitely on the lookout for more. You’ll need 5 ingredients for this recipe, which are readily available in your kitchen. For the flour, you can use whole wheat, rye or whatever else you have in hand. Also honey can be substituted for the molasses. I like that you can make different treat sizes, depending on the size of your goats. These should be baked and ready in just 20 minutes in your oven.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- steam rolled oats or quick cook oats
- flour
- sunflower hearts or other seeds
- peanut butter
- molasses
- water
- mixing bowl
- baking tray
- ziploc bag
When baking it is always wise to preheat your oven. Meanwhile, whilst you wait on the oven to warm up you can be busy mixing the batter for the treats. I always start with the dry ingredients and then use the peanut butter as well as the molasses to combine everything together. A little water maybe needed too. A cookie cutter is really not needed, I just use my hands to make cookie shapes, place them onto the baking tray and then straight into the oven.
