Homemade Apple Juice From Leftover Peels & Cores

Hmmm, we all love apples, don’t we? If so, then there is no reason why we should not try making this homemade apple juice from leftover peels and cores. You probably would’ve thrown them out anyway. In previous posts, we already covered how to grow apples, the best apple pie recipe ever and also how to make homemade apple cider vinegar. Let’s get juicing, shall we?

Now, unlike other homemade juice recipes, there is no blender or food processor required for this one. In fact, we only need three ingredients, of which one of them, sugar is optional. Speaking of sugar, if you do decide to use it, you can substitute the white sugar with castor sugar. Personally, I’ve only ever made this using red apples because they are my favorite, but any type of apples should get the ‘apple juices’ flowing, me thinks!

Here’s What You’ll Need:

Step By Step Instructions:

Step 1.

Wash, peel and then core your apples. Make sure you remove all the seeds from the cores.

Step 2.

Place the cores and peels in the saucepan.

Step 3.

Add the water and bring to a boil.

Step 4.

Reduce the heat and leave the mixture to simmer for about 30 minutes. Stir continously.

Step 5.

Strain the apple juice using a strainer.

Step 6.

Stir in the sugar until dissolved. (optional)

Step 7.

Leave to cool before enjoying! 🙂

That’s it! You’ve just made some homemade apple juice from peels and cores. You’ll know the juice is ready during the simmer session, once the water has obtained the color and taste of the apple leftovers. Stores well in a jug, in your fridge for 3 to 5 days!
