French Apple Jam Recipe

Ever heard of French apples? Me neither! LOL. I don’t believe they exist, but that does not mean you won’t be able to make this easy french apple jam in your kitchen today. I have already shared this homemade kiwi jam recipe, this homemade cherry jam recipe as well as this other homemade peach jam recipe in previous posts on this blog.

Generally most people, including me, tend to enjoy French cuisine. Sometimes it can be complicated, requiring several hours toiling away in the kitchen. That will not be the case with this easy recipe. You are able to mix different types of apples, let’s say Granny Smith and Honeycrisp or even pears too. Pectin is not required either, but maybe added if needed.
The recipe below makes about 2 pints of fresh homemade jam, in slightly less than an hour.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

In order to preserve your apple as you peel and core them, fix a bowl of lemon water, which you can then throw away after you dice your apples. After the prep work is complete, you can them move all the ingredients into the large pot. It is recommended that you cook on medium heat and stir continuously with a wooden spoon as you bring the contents to a boil.

Depending on your required ‘jam’ texture and the size of your apples, you can deploy the blender after the first 20 minutes or so. Ideally the jam must be thick by the time it’s ready to be scooped into sterilized jars for storage in your fridge. You could also use a water bath canner to can and seal the jars overnight. I usually just make a small batch and skip the whole canning process! 🙂
