You had me at… Blueberry! No doubt, just the title of this post is intriguing enough. Why stick to homemade marmalade jam, when you can have your own blueberry marmalade jam? There is absolutely no reason why, if you ask me. Especially if you’ve already mastered the art of jam making from making this homemade gooseberry jam recipe, to this bourbon bacon jam recipe and even this homemade kiwi jam recipe.
I personally prefer homemade jam recipes, that do not include pectin on the list of ingredients. However, it just so happens that this particular recipe, is one of those that has it on the list. Nevertheless, we won’t let that stop us from making one of the most unique and tastiest jams ever made. This might as well be classified a mixed fruit jam, since you need 3 different fruits to make it. It should take less than an hour to churn up a batch, that is about 10 minutes for prep and 30 minutes for the actual cooking.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- medium orange
- medium lemon
- water
- crushed blueberries
- sugar
- fruit pectin
- large saucepan
- ladle
- wide mouth jars
Wash your oranges and lemon, before peeling them, removing the excess white pith and shredding. Next is the boiling stage followed by the juice squeezing and adding of blueberries to the saucepan. An additional simmer session is required, before you can add the sugar and the pectin. Then yet another simmer session and only then is the hot jam packed straight from the saucepan into the jars and sealed.
