Homemade Kiwi Jam Recipe

If I was ever to find myself in New Zealand, this will be the first fruit I try out there. Just to see whether the original, tastes different from our version. LOL. Sometime back we looked at how to grow kiwis and I think even how to grow cocktail kiwis. I am in a jam making mood today, so let’s make some homemade kiwi jam, shall we?

This is one of those homemade jam recipes, that does not require pectin or canning. Which means that you sugar will be needed instead. Altogether, including the kiwi and the sugar this recipe calls for 4 ingredients only. When selecting your kiwi, make sure that you use a large one versus the smaller ones. You should be able to fill a small pint jar with delicious homemade jam, by following this super simple recipe.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

Step By Step Instructions

Step 1.

Use the knife to carefully cut the kiwi in half and then use a spoon to scoop out the flesh into your bowl.

Step 2.

Mash the fruit using your fork until it becomes a paste.

Step 3.

Cook the mashed kiwi in your saucepan under low heat.

Step 4.

Add the sugar and stir well.

Step 5.

Squeeze your lemon juice into the saucepan and stir well.

Step 6.

Add the honey.

Step 7.

Cook and stir the mixture until bubbles start forming on the surface.

Step 8.

Turn off the heat and set the pot aside to cool down.

Your jam is ready now. All that is left to do is to transfer the jam into your pint jars for storage. As with most of my jams, I tend to store the jars in the fridge. However, a cool dry place such as your pantry will suffice. Enjoy your homemade kiwi jam! 🙂
