What do you get when you mix juicy salmon fillets and a tasty hot marinade? I will give you the answer in just a moment. Do you remember the honey mustard salmon recipe or the shrimp and sausage skillet recipe? If you have tried and the loved them as much as I do, then this firecracker salmon recipe, is going to blow you away.
It is now one of my go to quick seafood dinner recipes, as it only requires about 30 minutes of total cook time. That of course does not include the hours we set aside for the salmon to marinate. In the absence of chili sauce in your kitchen (how dare you?) then just find any other hot sauce to use as a replacement. This recipe can easily serve a family of four, let’s get cooking.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- garlic
- ginger
- olive oil
- low sodium low soy sauce
- chili sauce
- brown sugar
- red chili flakes
- sriracha
- salmon fillets
- salt
- black pepper
- paprika
- chives
- shallow bowl
- oven proof skillet
- baking dish
- plastic wrap
The first order of business is to make the sauce/marinade. Add the soy sauce, chili sauce, ginger, garlic, brown sugar, sriracha and red chili flakes the the small bowl and give the ingredients a good whisk. Before coating the fillets, take a few minutes to season with paprika, salt and pepper.
Leave to marinate ideally overnight, but if pressed for time no shorter than 2 hours. When cooking the fillets you can either pan sear first and the transfer to the oven (my way) or you can just bake in the oven. Garnish with chopped chives and feel free to coat with an extra layer of the sauce before serving. This will enhance the flavor to super delish levels.
