Don’t you dare cook that fish without any seasoning, just because (like me) you realize at the last minute that there’s none left in the spice cabinet! Do you remember the earlier posts when I showed you how to make this homemade salmon seasoning recipe, homemade fajita seasoning mix and this homemade hamburger seasoning? Well, guess what? You can just as easily make your own homemade fish seasoning in minutes, right there in your kitchen.
As with most homemade seasoning recipes, this one too is super simple and straight forward. Ideally you want to have all the 6 required herbs and spices. However, do not stress if you’re missing one. Also feel free to experiment by adding your other favorite spices into the mix. I’ve tried adding cumin and fennel seeds to mine before, as well as a little cayenne pepper(for that extra kick). This recipe will yield slightly more than 3 tablespoons, however feel free to double or triple the quantities if you need to whip up a bigger batch.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- 2 teaspoons dried dillweed
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 2 teaspoons sea salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- air tight container or Ziploc bag
- small bowl
Step By Step Instructions
Step 1.
Mix all the ingredients together, in a small bowl.
Step 2.
Store in an airtight container or ziploc bag.
That’s it! You have just made your own homemade fish seasoning that you can use to season your fish before cooking. If you are not able to use all the seasoning in one go, you can simply store it away with all your other spices. Just remember to use it within 3 months. Happy fish seasoning! 🙂
