DIY Wine Bottle Tiki Torch

And then God commanded, let there be light! These will be a perfect addition to any patio. You already have plenty of other lighting options such as the diy mason jar tiki torches and the diy hanging solar lights. However, you should probably consider using these diy wine bottle tiki torches too.

I see more and more wine bottle projects appearing on Pinterest these days, which is a good thing. We should always try to recycle and reuse as much as possible, in an effort to be more environmentally friendly. For these torches, I personally feel like the colored bottles look way better than the clear one, but that is just a personal choice, I guess.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

Step By Step Instructions

Step 1.

Fill the bottle(s) a third full with pea gravel.

Step 2.

Add the fuel using a funnel, to avoid a mess.
fill the bottle to just below the neck.

Step 3.

Push the connector into the mouth of the bottle.

Step 4.

Insert the wick into the bottle through the connector.

Step 5.

Allow the wick to absorb the fuel for about
10 to 15 minutes and then light it up.

Instead of using the reducing connector you can use a bronze flange with teflon tape wrapped around the bottom end which you insert into the bottle. Also sand is a great substitute for the pea gravel. This helps weight down the wine bottle, in case you have to use the torch in windy situations. It is a little bit of extra work, but take some time to remove the labels from your wine bottles. They will look a lot prettier as torches without the labels.
