Next time you enjoy some bananas, don’t throw throw the skins in the trash. Some of us are already using to adding them to the compost pile or using them to make this homemade organic banana fertilizer. However, I recently discovered that you can also use them to make this homemade banana tea fertilizer too.
Generally, when it comes to making your own homemade fertilizers the easier the process the better. For example, with this ‘banana water’ besides the peels, all you have to do is add some water. This 100% all natural concotion can be given to all your plants, from your veggies in the garden to the flowers as well as all your potted indoor plants. I normally just dispose the soaked peels in either the compost pile or in our worm farm.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- banana peels
- water
- large tub or bowl
- colander
- plastic bottle
- knife
After eating your bananas, simply grab the peels and cut them up into small pieces. The ratio of banana peels to water is approximately 1:2. Normally it takes anyway from 48 hours to 72 hours for your fertilizer to be ready for use. Store in a plastic bottle after straining the peels with the colander, keep in mind that sometimes fermentation causes the bottle to expand.
