For us lovers of all things natural, naturally we tend to prefer homemade natural chicken treatments. For this one, there are only 2 ingredients needed. It is just a dusty and messy affair that will leave you looking like you were rolling around in wood ash yourself. Although you could do it yourself, it is probably wiser and easier if you can rope in an extra pair of helping hands.

Here’s What You’ll Need:
- shallow box or bin
- dust mask
- safety goggles
- lice infested chickens
- diatomaceous earth
- wood ash
If you’ve ever witnessed a sand storm, then you are prepared for how much dust there is going to be in chicken coop as you treat your chickens. With this in mind, it is vital that you have your personal protective equipment (PPEs) on before you begin. You just mix the diatomaceous earth and the wood ash as directed and then start dusting your chickens. All your lice infested chickens should be treated weekly for 2 to 3 weeks, to ensure that you kill all the lice and any eggs that hatch within that period.
